Twig Dress Light

A simple and light summer dress in broken rib. It can be made as a short dress or as a longer model for under the knee.

The upper part consists of 4 identical triangles, each with fine accented double increases that branch out along the edges.The same increase pattern is repeated at the hips.

The dress is designed to be tight fitting and the flexible ribbed pattern complements the curves of the body.

The dress is worked top-down, beginning with a provisional cast-on at the shoulder strap. Double knitted edges are worked along the way.

The 4 triangles are made in pairs by working in both directions from the provisional cast-on. The straps can be lengthened or shortened to adapt the fit to your body type.

All parts are gathered at the sides with Kitchener stitch. When the work is assembled, you work in the round in broken rib to the waist. Increases are made at the hips, and the work continues in broken rib until the dress has the desired length. Finally the dress is finished with an Italian bind-off.
